I'll explain: I don't like to type when the Stranger is typing, so as to let them direct the conversation. If there's a lull I'll fill it in, but if they're typing, I want to hear it. There was literally not a moment of this conversation that the stranger wasn't typing SOMETHING, so while I tried to figure out my snarkiest response for "asl" tonight, he was already asking why I hadn't answered yet. So, cruel as it was, I just let him keep typing, until he disconnected.

I should've answered, but he would've just disconnected anyway.
